Ordering online –
All information provided on the web site is accurate to the best of our knowledge. Any errors will be corrected as soon as possible.
All colour names and shade numbers are those provided by the supplier
Please be aware that computers screens can display colours in different ways and as such the colour you seen on screen may not exactly match the colour of the yarn in reality
After placing an order, you will receive an e-mail from us acknowledging that we have received your order. Please note that this does not mean that your order has been accepted. Your order constitutes an offer to us to buy a Product. All orders are subject to acceptance by us, and we will confirm such acceptance to you by sending you an e-mail that confirms that the Product has been dispatched. The contract between us ("Contract") will only be formed when we send you the Dispatch Confirmation. For your information only, but without constituting any commitment on our part, we may also send you an email to confirm when the Product has been picked and packed.
The Contract will relate only to those Products whose dispatch or agreement to provide we have confirmed in the Dispatch Confirmation. Each Dispatch Confirmation shall accordingly constitute a separate Contract.
We reserve the right to make any changes in the specification of Products which are required to conform with any applicable statutory requirements.

Returns and refunds
In addition to your statuary rights under the consumer rights act 2015
You have the right to cancel your order anytime up to and including 14 days after delivery as per the consumer contracts regulations 2013.
For a full refund, you must contact us in writing (by email or letter) within 14 days and the products must be returned unopened and in a resaleable condition with original receipt.
We will refund the original shipping charges. You will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods. We cannot be liable for returned goods which are lost or damaged in transit, so please ensure you use a recorded delivery service and insure the items for their value.
Should you find that on receipt of your order, that any Products are faulty, then we ask that you contact us via email within 14 days.
You must return the Products in their original packaging to A Yarn Tale 36a Thistle Street Aberdeen AB11 6JR. Please ensure that you include a copy of the original order along with your name, telephone number, email and address. We advised that all returns are sent record delivery, as we cannot be responsible for any lost packages.
We will reimburse any delivery costs incurred when returning faulty Products and will send replacement Products at no cost to you.
We do not offer refunds for PDF downloads or on sale items. Where sale items are returned there will be a 10% restocking fee charged.
Knitting needles, crochet hooks, patterns, magazines, PDF downloads and books are non-returnable unless faulty.
Refunds are handled as quickly as possible after we have received back the goods but do allow 5 working days. Your refund will be made to the payment method originally used.
For deliveries to the UK we use Royal Mail , please pick the delivery method of your choice. For deliveries to Europe and the rest of the World, we use Royal Mail Airmail. We post on Monday to Friday with the exception of Bank Holidays when orders are sent the following working day, orders received before 3:30pm will be dispatched the same day any orders received after this time shall be dispatched the following day. We will email you to say that your order has been dispatched. We can not be held responsible for any delay caused by Royal Mail.
Delayed or missing parcels
If a UK parcel hasn't arrived within 3 working days, please check with your sorting office to find out if they are holding a parcel for you but haven't left a card. Unfortunately, this seems to be increasingly common, and it's where most of our missing parcels turn up.
Although we obtain proof of posting for each parcel this doesn't give us any ability to track your parcel. Orders over £75 are sent Recorded Delivery and will require a signature.
We cannot make any claim against the post office until 15 working days have passed from the posting date, so don't offer refunds or replacements for this period. Almost every parcel does turn up within 15 working days, so while we appreciate that it's hugely frustrating, we'll ask you to wait. European parcels are not considered as missing by the post office for 20 working days, and the rest of the world it is 25 working days.
We can not be held responsible for missing parcels where the incorrect address has been provided by the customer. A refund will not be issued when incorrect details have been provided by the customer.
Where an order is returned by Royal Mail undelivered, we will give you the option to have that order resent. There will, however, be an additional charge for redelivery if an order has not been collected from the sorting office or the wrong address has been provided.
If you order Products from our site for delivery outside the United Kingdom, they may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied when the delivery reaches the specified destination. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please note that we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.
Please also note that you must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country for which the products are destined. We will not be liable for any breach by you of any such laws.
